Quartz Crystal Analyzer (QCA922)


The QCA922 (ref: SE-QCA922) is a sensitive Quartz Crystal Microbalance developed by Seiko EG&G

The instrument monitors both the resonant frequency and resonant resistance which are also reflected on the two analog outputs. Data collection can be easily done with the SP-150, VSP, VMP3 using a small optional DB9-8BNC cable (Ref: 092-22/1) (see Application Note #13).

The use of 5 or 9 MHz quartz crystals is possible depending on the calibration (5 or 9 MHz) performed at the factory at no charge when purchased.

Static and Flow QCA Cell

The Static and Flow QCA cell (092-QCA-FC) is especially designed to fit with the QCA922. This cell can be used in static mode or in flow mode.

This Static and Flow QCA cell is really convenient and easy to use (or to dismantle). Two O-rings around the quartz ensure airtightness and avoid leakage. Teflon part and sliding stainless steel part maintain O-rings and quartz together. This cell is robust and can be used many times without damage; moreover it is possible to work with organic solvent such as acetonitrile.  

QCA-FC

It is also possible to use this cell in flow with a peristaltic pump. The design of the cell is well adapted to this working mode, special connections are provided with the cell.

Quartz Crystals Resonator

A wide range of resonators is available in order to meet the need of each user. All resonators available are listed below.

Options

When the QCA922 is used as a standalone unit (without potentiostat), the WinQCM software (ref: SE-WQCM) can be used to record data.

The connection between the computer and QCA922 is of GPIB type. A GPIB-USB-HS (ref: GPIB-USB) converter from National Instruments is required.
